Bad calls

Hey y'all,
I got a phone call from the RCMP the other day. It was not a call that I wanted at this time in my life, that's for sure.
I was told that I was non competitive in the application process because of my bankruptcy. They want you to be 3 years passed your discharge date before you can apply. :-(
I am in no way angry or upset. I understand where they are coming from and can definitely live with it.
From a lay persons point of view, it is a very odd policy. I can see a little time passing and I thought that might happen, although it was taking a while to get a call back for anything, so I had really good thoughts. lol. Oh well
I still intend to be a police officer, as my first choice of career for the future.
I will be discharged for a year come next March. The wait time for the Calgary Police is a year. I am going to apply with the CPS. It kinda seems that we are supposed to stay somewhere for a while. lol. If I am not accepted into the CPS, then it will be time to look elsewhere for a career change. Perhaps a fireman, or a paramedic or.......who knows.

We have a lot of changes coming up too. I think that I mentioned to all you loyal readers of my blog that i was laid off in the beginning of July. Originally, I was going to remain on EI over the winter so that I could train for the RCMP. I was feeling really guilty as my awesome wife has gotten a new job at a new mall just north of Calgary and I was sitting at home. Yes, I am saving us childcare and I am running her dayhome until the end of the month, but still felt bad.
I am applying to be a school bus driver. lol. That way, I can take our youngest with me to work and, since it is part time, still have time to get in shape over the winter for my Police application.
Also, we are moving to Airdrie. Hopefully this will be the last move for a while.
Anyways, my wife's ex husband lives there and we are going to do a split custody arangement with him. We will split there kids 50/50. She is having a tough time with it all. They will also be with their father to start school and for a couple weeks till we get moved up there.

I must say that I am more excited about applying for the CPS now than I was last time. The worst is that I don't like it and quit. I am thinking that it will give me a chance, if it isn't working here, to transfer to a force out west and closer to my kids. Or, I can transfer to the RCMP too.
Time will tell
I totally hope that I am accepted and do become a Police Officer
Wish me luck and keep reading. :-)

It's official

Lol,
Yep, it's official. I have been re-inserted into the application process for my RCMP application. After almost a year with my head in the sand and trying to decide to decide to decide. I was going to go Calgary Police Service instead, however, my heart wasn't in it. After lengthy talks with myself and especially my wife, I decided that being a Mountie is what I wanted to do more than anything.
I recieved my pardon a while ago and recently sent it in to the recruiter in Saskatchewan. They re inserted me and now I have 3 weeks to get all the paperwork in and my PARE, the physical test, is on September 24th at 1pm. I am stoked. I now have to get running and hit the gym hard.
It is quite possible that I may find out if I will be accepted for Depot by my mother's birthday and parents anniversary. Then, I would graduate around my 41st birthday. lol
I will try to keep it updated here as things happen and progress, including pics.
I won't know because everything I built last time at the gym is now hanging around my waistline. lol
Talk to you later
